Who we are

Rocket City Practical Shooters are Northern Alabama's practical pistol shooting club affiliated with the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). We usually shoot a 5 course pistol match with at least one of them a classifier for local monthly matches. We hold our matches at the Cavern Cove Shooting Range in Woodville, Alabama. Anyone with safe gun handling skills is encouraged and welcome to participate. Our dedicated team of practical shooters will provide coaching and mentoring for all new shooters.

Upcoming Events:

USPSA matches are held on 2nd Saturday of the month.

These are USPSA affiliated pistol matches with 1 classifier minimum per match.

Speed Steel matches are held on 4th Saturday of the month.

Shoot 5 steel plates as fast as you can for time. Shoot 5 strings of fire per stage and discarding your longest time string for total time/score.

If cancellation is required, we will notify here as soon as we can.

Match scores are posted on the scores page for the May 12 USPSA match and April 28 Speed Steel Match.

Rocket City Practical Shooters has moved to a new range. We relocated from the Arab Range to a range in Woodville Alabama. Woodville is located about 20 miles east of Huntsville on Hwy 72 E. The range is located near Cathedral Caverns just north of Grant Alabama. Our next USPSA match will be at the Cavern Cove Range.

Free match fees for first time shooters has been discontinued. Match fees apply to all competitors...see match fees below.

RCPS will now be scoring using the new Apple iOS/Android scoring program Practiscore. We will be replacing the slow palm handhelds with Android Nook Simple Touch devices.

Shooters Connection has agreed to give Rocket City Practical Shooters a commission on sales for those sales purchased through the RCPS Shooters Connection icon located on the left column ofthis page. If you go to Shooters Connection using the link on the left and purchase anything, RCPS will be given a commission.

USPSA Match Pre-Registration:

To Pre-Register, click on the pre-registration form link below, fill in the information, and click on the "Submit" button. Once submitted, the registration will be sent to the match director for registration. If you have problems, email me at the address at the bottom of this page.

Schedule:

Matches are held on every second Saturday of each month. We shoot every month of the year...summer through winter, rain or shine. One match in the past 2 years was cancelled due to ice conditions.

Setup begins at 7:00-7:30 am (for those who wish to help)

Match Fees:

Adults	$20, with discount card: $15
Juniors	$5
Side Matches (shotgun/rifle/CCW)	$5

An annual Discount Card may be purchased for $50, complete form found on New Shooter Page and turn in to Match Director.
