Who we are

Rocket City Practical Shooters are Northern Alabama's practical pistol shooting club affiliated with the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). We usually shoot a 5 course pistol match with at least one of them a classifier for local monthly matches.

Ladies and children with safe gun handling skills are welcome to participate. Our dedicated team of practical shooters will provide coaching and mentoring for all new shooters. This is and can be a family sport.

Schedule:

Matches are held on every second Saturday of each month. We shoot every month of the year...summer through winter, rain or shine. One match in the past 2 years was cancelled due to ice conditions.

Setup begins at 7:00 am (for those who wish to help)
Registration begins at 9:00 am
Shooting begins at 9:30 am

If cancellation is required, we will notify here as soon as we can.

Match Fees:

Adults	$15
Juniors	$5
Side Matches (shotgun/rifle/CCW)	$5
First Time Shooters	Free

News:

Match scores for the August local RCPS match are posted on the score page. We had a good turnout for pocket pistol stages in August.

The Arab Practical Shooting Club has made some improvements to the range area. A load of dirt was brought in and laid in the swamp area and the area was mostly leveled across the range area. Special thanks to Steve for making it happen.

Upcoming Events:

Next local match will be held Saturday September 13, 2008 at the Arab Range. There will be 5 stages of pistol and also an optional shotgun/rifle side match. The side match will include 1 shotgun only stage, 1 rifle only stage, and 1 shotgun and rifle combined stage. The shotgun/rifle stage will require 6 slugs minimum. Shot and rifle rounds as needed.
